Cairo, alBawaba - Abdul Rahim Ali, member of the Egyptian House of Representatives exposed the pragmatism of the Libyan terrorist 'Abdel hakim Belhadj' who sent in the March 30, 2009 a message to Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, included praise for Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, describing him as "the leader of reform and dialogue in Libya", however, Belhadj turned against him two years later when he joined the rebels to topple 'Gaddafi'.
The founder of alBawaba News Portal said on Wednesday that some American retired generals have visited and supported the rebels in Syria. He aired the video of Major General Paul E. Vallely meeting with the leaders of the 'Free Syrian Army' 250km into Syria in August 2013, he also met members of a group called 'Nation's Brigade', which was financially supported by 'Belhadj'.
Paul E. Vallely is a retired US Army Major General. While visiting Syrian rebels he said "The U.S. needs to back the FSA fighters"
In his weekly appearance as a guest on 'al-Nahar One' space channel, Ali showed a recently declassified secret US intelligence report, written in August 2012 and was widely circulated among the main decision takers in the American administration. The report predicts and welcomes the prospect of a “Salafist principality” in eastern Syria (specifically in Dier el Zour and Hasaka) and an al-Qaida-controlled Islamic state in Syria and Iraq. In stark contrast to western claims at the time, the Defense Intelligence Agency document identifies al-Qaida in Iraq (which became Isis) and fellow Salafists as the “major forces driving the insurgency in Syria” – and states that “western countries, Qatar and Turkey” were supporting the opposition’s efforts to take control of eastern Syria.
The report mentioned the “possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality”, the Pentagon report goes on, “this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran)”
In addition, Ali showed the robbery of one of the most prominent Libyan rebels ' Mahdi al-Harati', when 200 thousand euros as well as a haul of family jewels were stolen in 2012 from his house in Ireland, and he told the police that the money is part of a huge amount he got from one of the US intelligence agencies.
According to local media, officers made contact with Mahdi al-Harati who told them that he had travelled to France, the United States and Qatar the previous month and that representatives of an American intelligence agency had given him a significant amount of money to help in the efforts to defeat Gaddafi. He said he left two envelopes with his wife in case he was killed and took the rest of the cash with him when he went back to Libya.
