Cairo - Parliamentary member, Abdul Rahim Ali mourned the loss of the prominent thinker El-Sayed Yassin, former Director of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies.
Ali, Founder and Chairperson of Al-Bawaba News Portal, commented on the prominent writer's passing by posting an obituary on Ali’s Face Book page, saying: I knew him twenty years ago starting in 1998 when I visited him at his office in the Al-Ahram Newspaper to dedicate my first book, entitled “Risks of Government-Radical Movements”.
Ali added: I thought at first, that I wouldn't hear from him again, but to my surprise, a week later he published a book review about my work. We later on became good friends. We co-worked in many think tanks over the next two decades.
Yassin won the State Award and Nile Prize in Sociology. He became the Director of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies from 1975-1995.
He obtained his Law degree from the University of Alexandria in 1957. He also earned a Diploma from the Criminal Sciences Institute from the faculty of Law, Cairo University, in 1968.
He was a graduate of Law and studied Social Science at Ritjon University and the University of Paris in 1964.On his career:
