Cairo – A former member of the Building and Development Party admitted on Sunday that the party has breached four articles of the political parties’ law.

The party should be dissolved after it was founded in violation of law, Hesham El-Naggar told Egypt’s Youm7 news website.

He pointed out that the party was founded on a religious basis in a manner that threatens Egypt’s social security.

El-Naggar added that he rendered his resignation in August 2013 after the party’s leaders rejected his 14-item initiative to renounce the Muslim Brotherhood.

Earlier, a petition was filed with the high administrative court to dissolve the Building and Development Party, freeze its funds and uncover its financier.
