Muslim scholar warns of rise of new MB-like Islamist sect

The newly-launched group, codenamed as El-Salkhaniya, adopts thoughts of the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis, Islamic Preacher Selim Ali told Al-Bawaba News on Monday.

This sect poses a threat to Egypt’s national security, he added.

Following the June 30, 2013 revolution, several extremist and terrorist groups emerged in Egypt, targeting army and police personnel and claiming responsibility for terrorist attacks throughout the nation.
