Tawadros II, Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria, hosted Iraq’s Vice President Iyad Allawy in Cairo’s St. Mark
Cathedral as part of a visit paid by the Iraqi official to
Egypt.
Allawi started his visit to Cairo on Wednesday, as he held meetings with a number of Egyptian officials, including President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
Allawi discussed ways to push forward
the bilateral relations between the two countries and to increase cooperation
in different political, economic and social fields.
Pope Tawadros provided the Coptic
icon of the Holy Family’s visit to Egypt to the Iraqi official during their
meeting at the papal headquarters
