Egypt’s FM chairs meeting to support Egyptian candidate for UNESCO post

Cairo - Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed on Thursday a meeting of the advisory council to support the Egyptian candidate for the post of the director-general of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

Egypt officially nominated former minister of family and population Moushira Khattab for the post of the director-general of UNESCO in July 2016. 

If she wins, Khattab will replace Irina Bokova in the top post.
