Cairo - The Egyptian government faced a large number of challenges since June 30 Revolution which deposed former Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi on both internal and foreign sides. However, the increasing popularity of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi played role to overcome most of these challenges during the past four years.

Brotherhood’s propaganda

Outlawed Muslim Brotherhood promoted false situations about Egypt using its media arms working in both Turkey and Qatar to smear the image of the Egyptian regime. Brotherhood’s leaders claimed that the June 30 regime adopts repressive approach against the opposition and activists of January 25 Revolution. The group’s claims received sympathy from a number of foreign countries in the beginning during the era of U.S former President Barak Obama.

However, the Egyptian diplomacy managed to achieve notable success to promote the truth through its increasing activities during the recent years. It underlined the terrorist challenge facing the country whether in Sinai or any other governorates. The U.S Administration of President Donald Trump adopted different position towards Egypt since its ascent to power, as it considers the Egyptian regime as a serious partner in the current fight against terrorism.

Qatari media

Qatar’s government used its media arm of Al Jazeera satellite channel to promote the visions of Muslim Brotherhood. The channel hosted the leaders of Muslim Brotherhood and other extremist groups to launch their inflammatory propaganda to destabilize Egypt.

The Egyptian government warned of the serious threats posed by the Qatari approach and convinced its partners from the Gulf States to take measures against the Qatari regime. The Gulf State moved recently in cooperation with Egypt and other Arab countries, including Egypt, to boycott the Qatari regime.

Economic situation

Economic issue is considered one of the major challenges facing the Egyptian government since June 30 Revolution. The Egyptian government took a number of tough measures. It liberated the Egyptian currency and increased the price of commodities, including fuel.

Despite painful repercussions of such measures, many international institutions, including International Monetary Fund, stressed that the Egyptian economy has promising future
