The Cairo Criminal Court resumed on Sunday the trial of 21 defendants, including adviser of former Minister of Finance Abdullah Shehata, in the case known as "Giza Specialized Committees" at the Police Institute in Tora.
The physical evidence of the case includes video clips released by the Islamic terrorist state of ISIS, with other clips showing masked men being trained on using weaponry, as well as clips showing protests held by Muslim Brotherhood members. The prosecution also presented personal photographs of some defendants and records of personal calls related to the case.
The defendants face several charges including possession of firearms, possession of explosive materials, and joining a a banned group which works in violation of the constitution and the law.
Following the overthrow of former president Mohamed Morsi on July 3, 2013, a large number of trials are being held in Egypt concerning Brotherhood members and their affiliation to the group as well as conducting terrorist attacks against citizens, and state facilities.
