Cairo - Sufi Orders Coalition mourned the tragic death of the fallen men from the army and the police who are putting their lives at stake for Egypt. The coalition called on the Egyptian state to step up its efforts against the scourge of terrorism and its mongers that beset Egypt from all sides.
In an exclusive statement for Al-Bawaba News Portal, Mustafa Zayed, general coordinator of the coalition, said that the state must safeguard Egyptians living and working in Gulf countries where extremist ideas that preachers in these countries pour into their minds, and come back to us overloaded with destructive thinking.
Zayed pointed out that Egypt faces the menace of terrorism
and extremist thought which is mainly driven by money and based on ignorance of
the masses. We must review the history of those who spread such extremist
ideologies in the Egyptian society. We have to counter those in order to
protect our homeland and spare our people the suffering of mayhem and bloodshed
on a regular basis. Zayed stressed that Egypt’s Sufi Order repose considerable
trust in Egyptian army and police who are both at the forefront of that war on
terror.
Since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, the insurgency has increased and militants have leveled up their attacks against the security forces in North Sinai. Dozens of people from both parties have been killed amid the ongoing crossfire.
Recently, the Islamic State has widened its operations across Egypt and has executed several attacks in other governorates, including Cairo.
