Cairo - Egypt said on Monday it has cut ties with Qatar, accusing the Gulf Arab state of supporting "terrorist" organizations, including the Muslim Brotherhood group. Such a step was praised by several Egyptian politicians.
Dr. Essam Khalil, head of Free Egyptians Party, said Qatari media outlets openly support terrorism and are the main podium to release the statements of terrorists and produce fabricated movies about countries that are fiercely combating terrorism.
Khalil pointed out that Qatar has ties with other supporters of terrorism, such as Turkey that backs the Islamic State group (ISIS). He stressed that Qatar strengthens its position among Gulf countries by having relations with Iran.

Hossam El-Kholy, deputy head of the Wafd Party, said Qatar officially acknowledges its support for organizations regarded as terrorists by the whole world, except the ruling regime of the Gulf Arab state.
Strangely, Qatar does not feel any shame from backing the Muslim Brotherhood group in Syria, Libya, Tunisia and Egypt.
El-Kholy told Egypt’s official news agency MENA that the Qatari regime is implementing a foreign agenda to destabilize the region and gives an illusion of a legitimacy to terrorist groups and organizations.
Mohamed Ismail, member of parliament, called for taking necessary steps to ban Qatar-funded media outlets that promote terrorism.
Ismail urged the international community to take a unified stance against all countries that support terrorism in the Middle East after some of them have been changed into battlefields, where innocent people are killed and capabilities and the life work of peoples are being destroyed in the region.
