El-Sisi praises role of Egyptian women for enduring burdens of economic reform

Cairo - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said on Saturday that Egyptian woman have played a vital and significant role to help Egyptian society overcome the current difficult conditions.

The Egyptian leader made his statements during an Iftar (first meal of the fasting day during Ramadan) banquet held under his auspices to honor women after El-Sisi had announced 2017 as the “Year of Egyptian Women.”

“The Egyptian woman has great ability to sacrifice and do her best to overcome the current harsh conditions of Egyptian society,” he reiterated.

El-Sisi pointed out that he thought about starting the implementation of the recent economic reforms after he had realized that the Egyptian woman is a pillar of each home. 

“The Egyptian woman is the source of support for her family, as evidenced by her ability to bear difficulties and sacrifice with patience,” he stressed.

“Although the procedures taken during the process of reform were harsh, the woman has played an important role by spending wisely to meet the needs of her family despite the limited resources,” El-Sisi added.
