Cairo – Several experts on Islamic movements assert that United States President Donald Trump's executive order to ban citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries will have its negative ripple effects on Muslim Brothers (MB) living and working in the US.
It is most likely that US Muslim Brothers will be relocating to a number of Islamic countries well-known of harboring and supporting them in order to rally against Trump's decision and flee harassment or inspection that they might face from European governments. Analysts also propounded that MB will try to find other ways to defy the status quo.
In a statement for “Albawaba News Portal”, Ahmed Ban, an expert on Islamic movements, said on Tuesday: “The international Muslim Brotherhood have realized the jeopardy of being ‘centralized’ in certain countries, which would mean that every movement by the group is monitored and every action is observed. So MB came to realized it has been in a hot water.”
Mr. Ban added: “Now they are bound to take concrete steps to decentralize their presence, operations and decision-making to some Islamic countries that are known of incubating their philosophy and blueprint such as Malaysia, following the recent clampdown in Europe, most notably in France and England.”
Abu-Saad pointed out that “Sudan” comes at top of the list of countries that have a history of harboring MB terrorists, though, it is not their epicenter. Then second in line comes "Somalia's Land", separated from Somalia and formally recognized by Israel as a military base, which is believed to be harboring many undercover Muslim Brothers, who are stationed there under the veneer of international humanitarian and relief organizations.
Abu-Saad added: “As for the rich MB members, Malaysia will be typically their destination. The rest of them, who choose to stay in Europe, will be keen not to engage in violence or propaganda work, making sure not to enter into any clash with those countries in which they live. They will also seek to pacify their younger generations by offering them ‘hollow promises’ as “we will be back again to restore our lost glories” and suchlike.
