No cheating allowed here! Cairo University challenges 'Chaw Ming' Facebook page

Cairo- "We have a very strict system in the quality of exams with 90% of it based on understanding. Also, examination papers [the questions] are secured very well," the statement coming from Dr. Gaber Nassar, Head of Cairo University.

Nassar said that the work of the end-of-year examinations at the university is proceeding according to a very disciplined system adding, “Last year, the Chawming Facebook page, that leaks examinations and encourages cheating, challenged us by saying it will be targeting Cairo University. But we were up to this challenge during the second week of examinations. and we dare it to come near the university again.”

Security services have identified and arrested the administrator of the notorious Facebook page that leaked high school exam papers along with their answers online.

Cairo University is Egypt's premier public university. Its main campus is in Giza, immediately across the Nile from Cairo. It was founded on 21 December 1908

Nassar added that at the end of examinations, a list of all reports of cheating will be made. Reported cheating has decreased significantly due to the change of method in the way examinations are given. Now they mainly depend on the understanding of the student. At the faculty of law, cases of cheating decreased from four thousand to 680 incidents only, which shows the success of the new examination method.
