Media body greets El-Sisi on 4th anniv. of June 30 Revolution

The June 30 demonstrations were the largest since the February 2011 revolution

Cairo - The National Media Authority (NMA) has prepared a program to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the June 30 revolution and present achievements of the Egyptian state and people on this important occasion, Al-Masry Al-Youm quoted NMA Chairperson Hussein Zein as saying.

Zein greeted, in a statement on Thursday, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the people of Egypt on the occasion of the “glorious June 30 revolution, which ended the reign of powers of ignorance, backwardness and terrorism,” and where millions of Egyptians of all sects rejected the rule of a single group of Egypt.

Zein said the revolution brought a patriotic sincere leader to Egypt’s presidency who placed Egypt back on the right track of development and stability.

The NMA works on developing national media outlets, so they can regain their position and provide a professional and responsible media content that supports the freedom of expression, affirms the principle of citizenship, and reflects the state's efforts to achieve development and stability, Zein added.

The NMA has replaced the current Radio and Television Union (RTU), with a mandate to oversee state-owned audio-visual media, radio, and digital media institutions in a manner that guarantees their independence, professionalism and profitability, according to the constitution.
