Al-Qassas pointed out that the party has not yet discussed the nomination of Aboul Fotouh for the next presidential elections, denying all reports about his candidacy. He also denied rumors that the party has ceased its political activities, noting that they did not participate in the last parliamentary election because of their rejection around certain circumstances during the Egyptian elections.
Brotherhood dissident Sameh Eid claimed that Aboul Fotouh has traveled to London, the stronghold hub of the international Brotherhood, to meet with the its leaders, who are expected to support him in the next presidential elections of 2018. He added that the Brotherhood is seeking new representation of the group in Egypt to restore its presence in the political scene.
